Hogan's Heroes The Complete First Season|
Review by Lando da Pimp
Who knew that a Nazi war camp could be so funny! Well it turns that if you were a POW at Stalag 13 all the inmates conducted an espionage and sabotage campaign right under the inept Nazi captors. The inmates led by Colonel Robert Hogan, portrayed by Bob Crane, causes havoc and disruption to Colonel Wilhelm Klink the warden of Stalag 13.
It's hard to watch this show after seeing the Bob Crane biographical film Auto Focus. Its tough not to think that the only thing Bob Crane had on his mind was sex. The legend of Bob Crane has hovered above the show. However it's still provocative and goofy at the same time.
Stand Out Episodes

For Hogan to be able to smuggle a prisoner out of Stalag 13 he must play match-maker between Klink and General Burkalter's niece. Burkalter would rather marry off his monstrous sister Gertrude instead.
You won't find any special features here. This is a bit of a disappointment for a show as successful as Hogan's Heroes.
This is one of the classic television shows that I can watch over and over again and laugh my ass off. It's excellent that the show is now on DVD but the transfers aren't that great and I can't understand for the life of me why there are no extras. Casual fans of the show will enjoy this DVD set but I wish something were included to make this DVD set more enjoyable for the hardcore fans.
