I was getting very excited about seeing this movie. I love Sean William Scott (Stiffler) in such movies as Road Trip, the Rundown, and the American Pie franchise. I am also a big fan of John C. Reilly, most recently as Steve Bruhle on Tim & Eric's Awesome Show. Great Job! So when I heard they were staring in a comedy together, I was intrigued. However after watching, I was thoroughly disappointed.

The biggest problem here was that the movie was marketed as a comedy to me. This movie is only marginally humorous. It's a great character study, and off-the-beaten-path character develeopment story, but it's not that funny. It follows the story of two men who feel they are more qualified for a managerial position than the other. They hurt and help each other along the way. Not to say this isn't a well made movie. You can tell that first time director, Steve Conrad (screenwriter of The Weather Man) really loves his work, and the actors, and does a great job. I think this should be presented as a character piece. The biggest source of confusion was the casting. When you see Stiffler or John C. Reilly, you think screw ball comedy. People getting hit in the nuts, boob jokes, stuff like that. I'm not saying that's my favorite type of movie, but that's what I was anticipating with this goofy cast. And they both did pretty well in their parts, they are versatile, however I don't like watching them be milquetoast losers, I want to see the wonderfully demented, or borderline asshole confidence that I wish I could get away with. Here I see people I pitty, and that's not very funny.

I do recommend this movie if you know what you're getting into. It also stars Jenna Fischer from The Office. The cinematography is good, and the jokes are minimally humorous, if you look at them as a treat, not the driving force of the film.
