Fresh out of the Silver Lake, California, music scene, Maverick's newest act, The Shore, burst out with their self-titled debut album. Ten tracks of power-pop balladry blending some elements of Travis, Coldplay, The Verve and Our Lady Peace, The Shore pack a punch with tracks like Firefly and Everything We Are while revealing a softer side with Take What's Mine and Waiting for the Sun. Featuring founder and front man, Ben Ashley, the band takes you down a scenic path that's marked clearly, yet still somewhat mysterious. Members of the band include guitarist Cliff Magreta, drummer John Wilmer and bassist Kyle Mullarky who collectively display masterful musicianship and accentuate Ashley's bittersweet vocals. Blending solid harmonies and memorable hooks, The Shore's debut album is an excellent start to what promises to be a bright future.
