The final Harry Potter film hits theaters today, and I have a lot of expectations for this film! Over the years writers and directors have taken liberty with the source material, some good, and some bad. I understand the need to tweak certain scenes to adapt them to film. I also have some high expectations of things that can’t be screwed up. Key scenes, moments, and character development will be very important in this film. It is the last one!  That is why this week, I’ll drink a few butterbeers, and list the Essential Seven Deathly Hallows, Part 2 Expectations:

It’s pretty much a guarantee licensed movie to videogame translations are awful. Gaming companies are often forced to adapt to a story that may or may not work as a game. Players will stay away from a game until they see the film, so they won’t be spoiled. But don’t be afraid of being spoiled by this game. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the “official” prequel to the movie. The story leads up to the events right before the film. This is one reason why I think the game works.

“The Dark Knight Rises” will have open casting calls four days this month for the conclusion to the trilogy shooting here in July and August and starring Christian Bale and enough notable performers for a fleet of Batmobiles.

Although the casting announcement coyly says it’s for “Magnus Rex,” the description is obviously Batman: “A Warner Bros. film requires extras to play as victims and perpetrators within a city besieged by crime and corruption. Take part in the urban action adventure ripping through the streets of Pittsburgh from July 28 through Aug. 21.”

The casting dates and times: June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.; June 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.; June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.; and June 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

Hopefuls should go to the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. Use the Oliver Street entrance and head downstairs to the William Penn Ballroom.
