From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
“The Dark Knight Rises” will have open casting calls four days this month for the conclusion to the trilogy shooting here in July and August and starring Christian Bale and enough notable performers for a fleet of Batmobiles.
Although the casting announcement coyly says it’s for “Magnus Rex,” the description is obviously Batman: “A Warner Bros. film requires extras to play as victims and perpetrators within a city besieged by crime and corruption. Take part in the urban action adventure ripping through the streets of Pittsburgh from July 28 through Aug. 21.”
The casting dates and times: June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.; June 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.; June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.; and June 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.
Hopefuls should go to the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. Use the Oliver Street entrance and head downstairs to the William Penn Ballroom.
As some of you know, Pittsburgh is my home town. I’m hoping to get some shots when production starts.
It was announced yesterday by Warner Bros. and the Pittsburgh Film Office that the next Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises will be filming in Pittsburgh this summer. As a resident of Pittsburgh, I’m excited to catch glimpses of the filming. You can read the entire article at the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette.
