I had the pleasure of seeing Hardcore Henry in theaters in all it’s glory, and now I’m even more excited to have it available to watch at home on Blu-Ray (and onDemand). This movie gets you excited, takes you for a ride, and (surprisingly) did not make me nauseated. In short, it’s just like a fireworks show. They give you amazing spectacle over and over and then have a huge finale. Click below for more. …continue reading Hardcore Henry – available now
The horror movie of 2016 is now available to see at home on Blu-Ray and iTunes. No film in recent memory has haunted me more than Robert Egger’s The Witch. Set in the 1600s just prior to the infamous Salem witch trials, this New England horror piece will get inside and not leave. Unless you regurgitate a rotten apple. That might happen.
I loved this movie so much I custom made some Witch themed playmobil figures and made a small ad. Click below for our review of the film, and the fun we had with the custom toys.
Now you can enjoy Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film, The Hateful Eight at home. I saw it twice in theaters, once to experience the 70mm roadshow, and once again a few days later. This was easily my favorite film of 2015. Click below to read my review of the film and the bonus features on the disc. And check out my tribute, The Playful 8, created with playmobil toys.

Disney knocked it out of the park again with a sweet, beautifully animated, and surprisingly thoughtful movie. I love how it is ultimately entertaining with a great story, humor, and enjoyable characters. However there is wonderfully socially responsible (dare I say lesson) message. It was an exciting weekend in our house. Yes, Easter celebrations meant a lot of sweets and goodies, but we also received a review screener of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. My eight year old son and I saw it in theaters on the day it came out, and have been dying to bring it home ever since. So now that we have it in our sweaty little hands, how does it hold up on the small screen and repeat viewings? How are the bonus features? Are there any easter eggs on the disc?
heard more than a few people bemoan Ant-Man before they saw it. They thought Paul Rudd wouldn’t be a good super hero, and they thought it wouldn’t make for a good movie. People also bemoan the use of 3D in today’s blockbusters. I want to take a magnifying glass to this hill of bemoaning and fry it. Paul Rudd is a great Ant-Man, and Ant-Man is a great superhero movie. On top of that, the 3D in this film is a powerful tool that helps in immersing us in the world of the tiny.
We’ve been waiting months to bring home Disney’s latest animated feature (and third highest grossing ever!) Big Hero 6. It’s a refreshing change from Frozen for the dude Disney fans out there… but don’t get me wrong, boys and girls thoroughly enjoy Baymax and his cohorts. But some of us take comfort in the lack of songs.
Big Hero 6 is a great superhero tale about a boy and his robot, who team up with his four friends to defeat a mysterious supervillain. You’ll fall in love immediately with Baymax, our unconventional healthcare companion. Click below for my review.
