click to buy from AmazonGuardians of the Galaxy comes out tomorrow on Blu-Ray and DVD. I can’t tell who’s more excited, the people who saw it in theaters, finally bringing home the fun, or the people who haven’t seen it yet, but heard how awesome it was. I’ve given the disc a spin, and the film still hold the awe and humor that I experienced in the theater. I also enjoyed the bonus features found on this disc. Machete Kills – Blu-Ray review

Danny Trejo’s Machete returns, this time on a mission from the President (Charlie Sheen) to save Washington from an extremist’s ticking missile launch. Did you enjoy the original Machete? Directed by Robert Rodriguez, the Grindhouse trailer turned feature length homage to trashy exploitation films is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. If you “get” what it’s doing, you can see it does “it” pretty well. Honestly, anyone that criticized the first Machete for being mindlessly dumb didn’t really pick up on what it set out to do. Those people will not like Machete Kills any better. Machete Kills picks up right after the first and plunges you right back into a world of comedic violence, bloodshed, and scenes of pure awesomeness. If you did enjoy the original Machete, and wanted more, this is it, right here.

Oz: The Great and Powerful Blu-Ray Review

I typically jump at the chance to see a Sam Rami movie. Director of Evil Dead and the Spider-Man trilogy, Rami, has been one of my favorite directors. I got excited when I heard that he was going to direct the Wizard of Oz prequel. Then I saw the trailer filled with special effects, and very stiff acting. I instantly could tell that something was off.

Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2 Blu-ray DVD Review

Not only does Pixar create amazing films, but the short films that proceed the features are just as entertaining. The shorts are magical pieces of storytelling that put together on one DVD makes it an easy way to watch all of them easily.

That’s right these have all been released before, but in order to watch them you need to pull out all of the latest Pixar films, watch one, remove it from the player, and insert another. You also have to find a way to skip the Disney trailers and commercials. I also have to wonder who really wants to admit they own Cars 2?

    The Muppets now on BluRay

Tomorrow The Muppets is available on DVD/Blu-Ray. If you missed it in theaters, now is the time to get things started. Click here to buy the The Muppets (Wocka Wocka value pack).

While the last few Muppet installments to hit theaters felt like kids movies that had adult appeal, this movie is clearly aimed to the adults that grew up with the Muppets, but it’s great fun for younger kids. My four year old loves the original Muppet Movie and Fraggle Rock, and he was right there with me watching The Muppets with glee. Click below to see my whole review.
