Celebrating a Century of Film

YouTube user Sean Grady put together a tribute to the past 90 years of film. Sadly he misses a lot of films, and includes a number of films that I could argue don’t deserve to be on here. However, its an enjoyable tribute.

The Real Indiana Jones 4 trailer

When you saw the trailer for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were you fooled thinking that it was going to be amazing? I think we all were! Josh Cooley, a story artist at Pixar Posted this video on his blog:

“I know I’ve complained about it before, but that movie haunts me. I’ll be out enjoying a sunny day, usually skipping with my woodland creature friends, enjoying a rainbow… BAM! Crystal Skull enters my brain and my head wants to explode as if I looked into the Ark. It makes me want to leave out a bowl of dates in the off chance I’ll be poisoned by a nazi monkey.”

“Anyway, I channeled my hatred and made lemonade out of lemons, by fixing the Indy 4 trailer so that it better matches the movie.”

Star Trek Super Bowl Spot

Still not sure about this movie. I’m torn from my dedication to Star Trek vs. my love for anything J.J. Abrams. The one thing I am glad is that Chris Pine is not going to do a Shatner impression. That would just be bad.

Transformers Super Bowl Spot

Just like the last movie the trailer makes this movie look amazing. I got sucked in a bit, until I saw the finished film. Most of the public loved the movie so I am sure the sequel will be even bigger. I am intrigued with the inclusion of Devastator. Enjoy some great “Bay Action!”

First Glimpse of some GI JOE Action!

Entertainment Tonight had a 10 second glimpse of the upcoming GI JOE trailer. I’m starting to get excited for this movie. The posters released last week were not that great, but the little glimpse of action looks good. What do you think?

Gi-Joe Posters Revealed

Ain’t it Cool News has posted 5 posters for the new GI-JOE film. Harry makes a good comment that the posters don’t really show anything, but how fit the actors are. I wish I could get excited for this film, but after the Transformers disaster I can’t. Hopefully I will be wrong. In a few weeks I anticipate seeing some footage at Toy Fair.

LEGO Indiana Jones Temple Escape, (7623)

lego_jones_28.jpg

How many movie franchises that are more than two decades old, can make a resurgence as a LEGO toy today. Not many except maybe Indiana Jones. With Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hitting theaters in May, the marketing has begun with LEGO producing three sets based on the previous films Raiders of the Lost Ark, and one set from The Last Crusade. Our first LEGO Indiana Jones review is based on the opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Indiana retrieves a golden idol from an ancient temple.

LEGO Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring, (7661)

lego_starfighter_19.jpg
I have not been a fan of a lot of the Star Wars prequel ship designs. They just don’t hold up to the coolness of the Millenium Falcon or the Star Destroyers. So when I watched Episode II I was really fascinated with how the starfighters use the Hyperdrive booster ring to go to hyperspace. It was a unique idea and I was curious why we haven’t seen this LEGO set sooner.
