One of my favorite scenes from Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark, is Indy’s fist fight with the airplane mechanic. The Nazi’s have possession of the Ark, and plan on taking it back to Berlin. Indy must stop the plane from taking off with the Ark. But first he has to get through the giant mechanic. LEGO’s new set 7683, Flight on the Flying Wing, re-enacts this scene with this new 376 piece set.
/gamer posted a news story that an employee who works for Traveller’s Tales, confirmed that we are going to see a LEGO Harry Potter this year, and in 2012 a game based on The Hobbit.
“An employee who works at the UK based studio Traveller’s Tales, has confirmed several new Lego titles. First, the long rumored ‘Lego Harry Potter‘ game is indeed coming out and probably around the same time as the new film, which opens on July 17, 2009. Next up is another Indiana Jones adventure, but this time the game will follow the last movie ‘The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’ If that wasn’t enough, the same staffer confirmed at least one more Batman in Lego form, no word if it will follow the newest film ‘The Dark Knight.’”
“Guess what, the employee also hinted at one more Lego game. The Hobbit film (MGM), which is essentially a prequel to “Lord of the Rings,’ is scheduled to be in theaters sometime in 2012. Apparently, Traveller’s Tales has sealed the rights to create a Lego version game of the film…joy.”
If this is true, I wonder why we haven’t heard anything yet. The film comes out this Summer, and you would think we would have known this sooner. As for the The Hobbit news thats exciting. If LEGO did aquire The Hobbit license, you can be we will also see LEGO sets based on the film.
Many people spend their entire lives searching for the Grail, either in reality or as a metaphor. Entertainment Earth can do you one better by offering the Indiana Jones Holy Grail Paperclip Magnet Desk Accessory, a replica of the legendary cup as seen in the pages of legend, and a recreation of the prop from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.. On the silver screen, its special abilities included healing powers, and this nifty replica has magical properties, as well. It’s magnetic! Now you won’t lose your paper clips. Also, it looks totally cool. Be sure to get one!
We’re pretty psyched about Terminator Salvation now that we’ve seen the new kick ass trailer, but we’re also a little hesitant… how many times have you seen an amazing trailer and been completely pissed with the end result? Its happened to me more than once. Check out our Essential 7 Movies, that were a total let down after their trailer was so awesome.
7. Mission Impossible
Oh man I had high hopes for this one. You have computer hackery (which was cool validation to us 1990′s BBS users), laser scanners, hot chicks, death defying stunts, Emilio, explosions, and Tom Cruise being blasted off of an exploding helicopter onto a moving train…. in a tunnel. I watched the (80′s update) Mission:Impossible on TV with my dad, and I duh-duh-dum-dum’d the theme song as I ran around our backyard ducking behind picnic tables for countless hours… so I was really excited for this movie. But afterwards I was confused… do I announce that I was completely lost/not impressed with all the double crossing, or did something go over my head? Am I an idiot for not understanding it? Am I an idiot for paying for a ticket? …continue reading Essential Seven Deceitful Movies
I know we were pissed that the Temple of Doom figures were not released. Our friends over at Entertainment Earth has the Hasbro Indiana Jones Wave 4 that includes the Temple of Doom figures. Well Toy Fair is over! We saw a lot of great stuff. Toy companies are cutting back and really focusing on what the fans want. So what was the coolest? Here is the Essential Seven Coolest Toys We Saw at Toy Fair!
When you saw the trailer for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were you fooled thinking that it was going to be amazing? I think we all were! Josh Cooley, a story artist at Pixar Posted this video on hisblog:
“I know I’ve complained about it before, but that movie haunts me. I’ll be out enjoying a sunny day, usually skipping with my woodland creature friends, enjoying a rainbow… BAM! Crystal Skull enters my brain and my head wants to explode as if I looked into the Ark. It makes me want to leave out a bowl of dates in the off chance I’ll be poisoned by a nazi monkey.”
“Anyway, I channeled my hatred and made lemonade out of lemons, by fixing the Indy 4 trailer so that it better matches the movie.”
The other day I hit Target and discovered that the Indiana Jones figures were on clearance for $1.23 each. I was hoping to find a Sallah, Young Indy, or even a “German Soldier.” Sadly, all they had were about fifty Mutt Williams action figures. So why aren’t people buying Mutt? It’s because nobody knows what to do with him. I decided to come up with some suggestions on what to do with a Mutt Williams Action Figure.
