James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd) visited the Monroeville, PA, seen in Dawn of the Dead (1978). Now I go to this mall all the time, so I’m over the excitement of its history. However, James and company did their research and found the location of key scenes from the film.
James Rolfe (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd) put together this great feature that documents all of the Roger Corman Deathstalker films. He even counts all of the kills and boobs. I remember watching these movies as a kid. Mostly because of all the boob shots.
The latest Angry Video Game Nerd isn’t as much angry as it is presents really interesting information about a series of Atari games called Swordquest (note: it’s still really funny). Swordquest is a series of video games that came with a comic book with clues to win very valuable prizes. This was a revolutionary concept back in the early ’80s. I was unaware of the contest, however I do remember owning a copy of the first game Earthworld.
Monster Madness has begun over at Cinemassacre.com. Every day this month James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd) is featuring a horror movie review. The history of horror films begins with Edison Studio’s Frankenstein from 1910! This was the first motion picture adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel. This film was believed to be lost until a copy of the film surfaced in the ’70s.
Be sure to check out Cinemassacre.com every day for a new horror film review.
I am always interested in seeing movie locations from famous films. In fact I’m still working on wrapping up the Pittsburgh Dogma film locations. James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd), last year documented the Philadelphia locations from all six Rocky films. I’ve been to Philadelphia a few times, and I think the next time I go I will track down some of these iconic locations. Check out the videos after the jump.
