Marvel has launched the official website for the film. It’s pretty underwhelming with only this teaser poster you can download. Still cool though.

Early this week the trailer for the Footloose remake hit the web. The question has to be asked does a remake of a successful film from the ’80s need to be made? Obviously the answer is no. It shows the lack of creativity with Hollywood. That doesn’t mean that remakes / reboots are bad. I think some franchise’s need a good reboot in the ass. Franchise’s become stale, and need a new point of view. Remaking a previous Essential Seven list, here are the Essential Seven Franchise Remakes / Reboots That Worked:

Holy Crap, the Avengers is actually happening with Joss Whedon. I’m so excited that Joss is getting the respect he deserves. Filming began this week, and we have the first official photo from the set. None of the actors are in the photo, but we get a look at what I assume is the Avengers headquarters.
This weekend the cast of the Avengers film was together on stage at Comic Con. Joss Whedon will be directing and I can’t wait to see his take on one of my favorite comic books! The cast L to R Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man); Clark Gregg (SHIELD Agent Coulson); Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow); Chris Hemsworth (Thor); Chris Evans (Captain America); Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury); Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye); Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk); Joss Whedon; and Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige.

I have already read lots of people writing that this is hope of a possible Firefly / Serenity project. My thoughts? They are friends and just got together. Although I hope I’m wrong!
One of the greatest television shows of all time is Joss Whedon’s Firefly. When the show was on TV it couldn’t find a large enough audience. Fox then cancelled the show. The series DVD brought in new fans who never watched the show when it was on. I’m one of those “new fans.” My first Firefly experience was watching Serenity in theaters on recommendation from a friend. I instantly bought the Firefly DVD and watched every episode. With a viewing of the series again, I decided to choose the Essential Seven Firefly Moments:

In response to the Restore Stephen Baldwin video, somebody put together a Restore Joss Whedon video. The video isn’t asking you to support Joss Whedon financially. Why? Because Joss Whedon doesn’t suck
A few weeks ago it was announced that Patton Oswalt pestered Joss Whedon on the set of Dollhouse about what happened with Firefly that Joss hired him to tell the continuing story of the Serenity crew.
