Wow. According to the New York Times, Disney has acquired Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Robert Iger said “We believe that adding Marvel to Disney’s unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation.” Ike Perlmutter believes that “Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses.”
You know what that means, a Mickey Mouse Spider-Man.
Wow big surprise here. Captain America is coming back to life. Two years ago, Marvel killed off the patriotic superhero. Now writer Ed Brubaker and artist Bryan Hitch are bringing Steve Rogers back to life. Bucky Barnes has been the current Captain America for the past few years. Bringing back Rogers has nothing to do with the fact that a Captain America film is in the works. No that can’t be. You can read more about it at Marvel.com
