The horror movie of 2016 is now available to see at home on Blu-Ray and iTunes. No film in recent memory has haunted me more than Robert Egger’s The Witch. Set in the 1600s just prior to the infamous Salem witch trials, this New England horror piece will get inside and not leave. Unless you regurgitate a rotten apple. That might happen.
I loved this movie so much I custom made some Witch themed playmobil figures and made a small ad. Click below for our review of the film, and the fun we had with the custom toys.
Playmobil had a great showing at Toy Fair this year. This is my favorite booth every year. Check below for tons of pics from their display this year. Pirates, all new NHL teams, and even pirates that interact with your app.
Update: I’ve added my in depth write-up, click below to see!
I took Benny the Lego Movie astronaut and the new playmobil lunar rover to the National Air & Space museum in Washington DC yesterday. Today we’re posting photos from the museum on our Instagram feed MillionairePb. Vote for your favorites so we can see who wins in the age old battle LEGO vs Playmobil. I recently saw the 2016 horror movie, The Witch, written and directed by Sundance Best Director winner Robert Eggers. It’s a horror movie based on tales from the 1600s. Think of it as, if they had horror movies in the 1600s, this would be one that the settlers would go see. It’s beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and the imagery will haunt you for weeks. Here I am setting up little playmobil figures to recreate scenes from the movie, and I even colored my goat all black. I mean, I have to have a Black Philip action figure. He told me I did.
I’ve got a whole bunch of photos to show you. Check it out.
We fell in love with Netflix’s Stranger Things so we made a spoof with playmobil toys. Click below for a gallery of images used in the video (plus a few more!) We promise we don’t spoil anything major, in case you’re not all the way through. But how is that possible? You gotta get to the end.
I got some sweet playmobil sets for Christmas, including this shuttle and launchpad. A friend of ours has a fog machine so I thought I’d take over a handful of sets and try out how the fog works in a studio setting. Click below for more pics and get excited for Toy Fair!
What a way to ring in the new year than with the only band of aliens hell-bent on destroying the earth. I road-tripped down to The National in Richmond, Virginia, threw on my white Donate Blood t-shirt and got ready to say goodbye to 2015. Click below for some kick-ass pics.
Playmobil has always prided itself on never producing toys of licensed entertainment properties. The Brandstätter family always wanted to capture children’s imaginations with a “blank slate” – no embedded characters or storylines. While LEGO and others are making sets of Star Wars, Harry Potter, and The Avengers; Playmobil was doing knights, samurai, and ancient Romans. However, kids these days and more importantly, the parents buying the toys, do want something familiar, and Playmobil needed to respond.
