Last week Nathan Fillion tweeted this photo of a small Firefly reunion. Nathan, Joss, Alan, and Adam all got together. I have already read lots of people writing that this is hope of a possible Firefly / Serenity project. My thoughts? They are friends and just got together. Although I hope I’m wrong!
One of the greatest television shows of all time is Joss Whedon’s Firefly. When the show was on TV it couldn’t find a large enough audience. Fox then cancelled the show. The series DVD brought in new fans who never watched the show when it was on. I’m one of those “new fans.” My first Firefly experience was watching Serenity in theaters on recommendation from a friend. I instantly bought the Firefly DVD and watched every episode. With a viewing of the series again, I decided to choose the Essential Seven Firefly Moments:

More than three years in the making, Serenity – The Big Damn Replica, has been painstakingly crafted to be absolutely screen-accurate in every aspect. Unlike most ships from science fiction, Serenity was designed from the ground up to be as realistic as possible, from her floor plan to her construction, using real-world components and manufacturing processes. As one of her creators observed, the idea was to make Serenity so real, fans could see themselves walking her decks. With such a sense of place and familiarity, viewers would never feel lost in this Firefly-Class Transport.
When it came time to develop this replica, we could do no less. Every bolt, every seam and every asymmetrical plate has been recreated with exacting attention to detail in this first and only screen-accurate replica of Serenity. Years of intense effort have gone into all aspects of this model, from the model sculpture built from the movie special effects master files to the paint job created to match not just the colors of the ship, but the materials as well.

The action figure market is primarily dominated by male action figures. Little boys don’t want a girl action figure. Because of this, very few female characters are ever created for toy lines. Princess Leia, April O’Neil, and Scarlett are a few of the more successful female action figures.
The older collector market is not affected by gender. We embrace unique toy lines, and the lesser known characters. That leads to this week’s list the Essential Seven Female Action Figure Wishlist:

Alan Tudyk discusses his thoughts on the early cancellation of Firefly and the Serenity movie. This includes his idea for a Walsh prequel where his character is all strung out. By the way he is joking about this.
Looking for a Halloween Costume idea? How about going as the ship Serenity from Firefly? It’s unique for sure.

YouTube member jaronpitts put together this awesome trailer for a fake Green Lantern film starring Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordon. After watching the trailer, I think Fillion would be perfect actor for the character. The trailer includes footage from Serenity, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Superman Returns to name just a few.
