Pittsburgh Comicon Starts Friday!

Starting on Friday, April 20th, the Pittsburgh Comicon runs through this weekend. Special guests include Stan Lee, Peter Mayhew, and a large number of comic book writers and artists. You can see a complete list of special guests at PittsburghComicon.com

 

I will be attending on Saturday, and will post photos from the event next week.

Essential Seven WWII-Era Comic Book Patriots Without Cool Movie Adaptations

Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters today. Created in 1941 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, Captain America wore his patriotism on his sleeve (not to mention his chest, head, shield, and pirate boots) and did his bit to save the world from the Axis Powers. And, after years of waiting (and one crappy movie starring the son of J. D. Salinger for Pete’s sake!), we’re finally getting a Cap movie!¬†Of course, Captain America was not the only WWII-era freedom fighter. There were a host of others who hit the front lines. However, unlike Cap, most of them will never be seen on the big screen. Pittsburgh Comicon Starts Today

If your going to be in the Pittsburgh area this weekend, stop by the Pittsburgh Comicon. The show starts today and runs through Sunday the 13th. I plan on attending Sunday. Unfortunately, I will be missing the special guest of honor Stan Lee!
