For nine seasons Jaleel White portrayed Steve Urkel on the ABC show Family Matters. The show originally was about the Winslow family, but when the character of next door neighbor Steve Urkel was introduced, the show became more about Urkel than the Winslows. By the time the show ended Jaleel was sometimes portraying 3 to 4 characters a week. With the Urkel Transformation Chamber, Steve had the ability to change himself into various Urkel incarnations.
