Essential Seven Worst Third Films in a Movie Trilogy

Movie sequels are never as good as the original. Rushed into production for a quick buck. Once in a while the second film proves this wrong, and is just as good or sometimes better! A third film is then expected to complete a movie trilogy. That’s when everything goes bad, ruined by the third film. Looking at all of the trilogy DVD box sets on my shelf, I identify the Essential Seven Worst Third Films in a Movie Trilogy:

Joss Whedon Wants to Buy Terminator Franchise

Joss Whedon

Last week it was announced that the Terminator franchise rights were now for sale. Speculation that the rights are worth anywhere from 20 to 60 million. Joss Whedon has now made an offer to purchase the franchise. His offer? $10,000. “That’s four — FOUR! — zeroes after that one. That’s to show you I mean business. And I mean show business.” You can read his entire letter at Whedonesque.com

The Sarah Connor Chronicles is Terminated

TV Squad is reporting that the The Sarah Connor Chronicles is Terminated:

How many times have we Internet bloggos reported the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

It seems like the series was killed and resurrected a dozen times during its second season. At this point, it’s hard to believe Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello who is telling us that the show is dead and will not rise again no matter how much its fans kick and scream. But it looks like Fox has officially canceled TSCC.

If this news is true, at least we can say that TSCC went out with some major cajones, delivering a twist ending that surprised and shocked the hell out of even the most die hard fans.

Still, I’m sad to see it go. The show hooked me during its short first-season run, but its more challenging and rewarding second season turned me into a full-blown Terminator fan boy. It’s a shame that millions of viewers never saw what turned out to be a very compelling and sometimes heartbreaking sci-fi series with a surprising amount of ambition and depth — and kick ass robot-on-robot brawls.

Popcorn

The 2009 summer movie season is about to begin with X-Men: Wolverine Origins film hitting theaters next week. So what can we expect? Should we see all of these films? We have no idea if these films are going to suck or not. Hell, some of us here at MPB refuse to see the films on the list. But to be good journalists we narrowed down all of the summer films to a key seven. We don’t like everything that is coming out. We are providing our opinions, and think we have produced a list of the Essential Seven 2009 Summer Movies:
