When we first saw the group of bounty hunters assemble on the bridge of the Executor in The Empire Strikes Back, many of us shouted innumerable questions about them. Who are they? What are they capable of? Why would a bad ass like Vader need freelancers? The bounty hunters in Star Wars are always mysterious and unpredictable, so here are the Essential Seven unanswered questions concerning bounty hunters in the Star Wars Universe.

I have been reading Stephen Sansweet’s Star Wars: 1,000 Collectibles: Memorabilia and Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away and came across the chapter that deals with the films posters. Most of the posters are similar to the ones released here in the states with the exception of the Star Wars posters from Hungary. The Hungarian set of one-sheets are an interesting take on the Star Wars art.
Leave it to Family Guy to point out some of the weird story points from the Star Wars films. For instance which side of the car pilots the Cloud City Cloud Car? Why do the Rebellion wait three years to rescue Han from Jabba? Why does Lando wear Han’s clothes at the end of the film? The Family Guy parody of The Empire Strikes Back, Family Guy: Something Something Something Darkside trailer is now available. The saga continues as Luke (Chris), Leia (Lois), Han Solo (Peter) and Chewbacca (Brian) have evaded the dreaded Imperial Starfleet led by the cunning, conniving and curiously short evil lord Darth Vader (Stewie), setting up a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. With the rebellion in trouble, young Skywalker must take the advice of his late, and rather lascivious, mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Herbert) and learn the ways of the “farce” under Jedi Master Yoda (Carl) to save the galaxy once and for all.

While this weekend marks an anniversary that will likely pass quietly and without much fanfare, we felt the date warranted a shout-out nonetheless. On August 15, 1979, Star Wars fans got their first real taste of the The Empire Strikes Back when the first live-action trailer premiered with the second re-release of Star Wars that summer. The 90-second preview, which was touted on the blue and red Star Wars posters printed for this release, was actually the second Empire trailer produced, but the first to showcase footage from the film (the first was merely a teaser with concept art and still photos).
