Walking with Dinosaurs, the BBC documentary series, took the world by storm a few years ago.  The CGI dinosaurs mixed with actual history and science became the new gold standard for dinosaurs.

Now the “Walking” franchise has extended to a touring arena show.  The show featuring finely detailed dinos in a mix of animatronics and people in suits are playing mid sized arenas around the world.

Star Trek Trilogy Blu-Ray

When we think of the big movie trilogys, we all think about  Star Wars, Back to the Future, and recently the Bourne films. What about Star Trek? With eleven films I can see why Star Trek may be overlooked. Starting with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and its two sequels we have a three-part story that branches over three films.  As a trilogy these films work well together. It just happens that the trilogy starts with part 2! Paramount has now released the trilogy as a three disc collectors boxed set on Blu-ray

The Good Parts: Star Trek V – The Final Frontier

Anticipating Friday’s release of J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek, we’re paying homage to Star Trek this week. One of the worst moments in the franchise’s history is Star Trek V, directed by William Shatner. Following the successful Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V was a dismal failure. The story was poorly conceived and the effects were just terrible. Was it all bad? No. In fact a good writer could have made a huge improvement over the script. I re-watched the film searching for a few shining moments. Here is what I found:
