MPb Picks of the Week
by R Hunter
Every week, a different MillionairePlayboy.com staffer takes a turn sharing something in different mediums that you should check out. R Hunter brings us our second week of picks. Come back next week for a different staffer's picks.
READ: Pretentious Art Book
Amano: The Complete Prints of Yoshitaka Amano
The book: Class up your Miama Heat tin tv dinner table with this snazzy book. If you have some fat ugly cos-play chicks over they will totally dig all the old prints from Final Fantasy and Sandman.
Why you should check this out: Yoshitaka Amano is one of the greatest and best artists in the world! He manages to combine the movement of traditional Japanese line strength with the fragile pale beauties dipicated in Klimt's portraits.
Check out at Amazon.com - $28.00
WATCH: DVD
Reign the Conqueror - Complete (2000)
AEON FLUX creator Peter Chung revisits the legend of Alexander the Great in his usual twisted way.
Why you should check this out: One of the best pieces of animation ever! Tons of bloody battles, Male thong attire, and you could probably get away with showing it in history class!
Check out at Amazon.com - $62.99
LISTEN: CD
FischerSpooner: #1
Imagine intellegent and dark electronic music that isn't for e-tards in Miami. They sound like old school Depeche Mode mixed with Pretty Hate Machine after a coke binge with Lords of Acid. The art school duo also puts on an elaborate stage show with tons of faggy make-up and costumes with an army of hot chick dancers and singers.
Why you should check this out: The song about pooping is really worth checking out. Also the bonus video on the cd will give you a taste of the wild live performances.
Check out at Amazon.com - $14.99
PLAY: Emulation Old School NES
Although it may be illegal, one could track down an NES emulator and then the corresponding ROM files to play all of the games they had as a kid. Off hand I am estacic to have Bionic Commando, Contra Force, Ducktales, and Deja Vu.
Why you should check it out: It goes to show less is more. You can totally have a great time and not need fourty buttons and three direction control pads. Plus most emulators have a game genie feature built in as well as a screen capture capability.
COLLECT: Toy
Stan Winston's Vereticus from the Blood Wolves line by NECA
This is some hot shit! I was dying for this toy the day I saw it at San Deigo Comic Con this summer. I finally got it in the mail Friday and it rocks! The rest of the line ain't too shabby either so check them out!
Why you should check this out: Great figure, the best part being they didn't over do the articulation! He can do all the moves you need including holding his sword with two hands. NECA rocks and they keep getting better. One small tip: Snip of the handle of the dagger with a toe nail clipper, it doesn't fit in either hand! Obviously Hong Kong is to blame!
Check out at Entertainment Earth - $49.99
SURF: Web
Plan B Toys
Why you should check this out: Plan B has new shots up of their fourth coming World War 2 line. If you've been hooked on Metal of Honor just wait till these figures hit!
Check it out.
DROOL: Female
Maja Ivarsson
Why you should check her out: Hot. Talented. Swedish.
That's the wonderfully talented Maja from Sweden's retro rock group The Sounds. She puts on a stage show more livelier then Richard Pyror's crack pipe-explosion skit.
Check out their official web site the-sounds.com
And check out my interview with them here
