Casey Lau by R Hunter
I scored the San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Deviants from Hong Kong artist Casey Lau.
I love these things, they clock in at 8 inches and tower over my other Vinyl figures.
Body Count sports a gold HK machine gun and six points of (twist joint) articulation at the head, waist, shoulder, and knees. Slaughterhouse fairs a little better with 10 points of articulation at the same places with the addition of his two extra arms. He also features two silver pistols. They may not be lent to many different poses but they look awesome and imposing in their neutral stance. All of the guns fit nice and tight in the hands and all the articulation is tight. Unfortunately do to running cuts (a terrible but true concession in this business) Slaughterhouse and Body count's once detachable guns and daggers are now molded into the holsters. Not a huge downside but something noteworthy.
These figures are very cool pieces of the Designer Toy art movement and I
love them. They remind me my early GI Joes with the fun character designs
and cool color schemes. They are also one of the more affordable pieces in the whole HK Urban Vinyl scene.
You can see these figures and more by Casey Lau at the SubCultures show in Feb.
