Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Figures

Jakks Pacific sent over a two pack of the new Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian action figures for us to check out. This set features the character Faun Mentius and Minotaur Asterius.

For those unfamiliar with the film, Prince Caspian is the the second Chronicles of Narnia movie. Caspian is the second book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, but fourth in the chronological sequence of the series. I never read the books, but reading about the film the story is bigger and more action oriented than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The new 3 3/4-inch tall figures feature real battle action. Faun Mentius's leg kicks while Minotaur Asterius swings his battle ax. The details are very good for the scale of the figures, particulary Minotaur Asterius. I found standing Faun Mentius very difficult to stand. He comes with a small clear plastic base, but that didn't help very much. The stance that you see pictured was the only way I could keep him up.

I will be honest. I didn't care for the first film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe so I avoided the toy line. The trailer for the new film looks great. I may have to check it out when it hits theaters. The toy line for the film has peaked my interest, and I am curious to see some of the other figures from the line.
