Star Wars Midnight Madness

This Friday night is what Star Wars fans have waited for since Episode II. At midnight on April 2, 2005 select Toys R Us and Wal-Marts will be open at midnight with Target opening early for Star Wars fans to buy all the new Episode III merchandise. With all the confusion of what is going on at the stores here is the basic information you will need. Here is what is going on at each store:

Wal-Mart
At midnight you will be able to purchase all the Revenge of the Sith goodness. Select Wal-Marts starting at 8 AM on Saturday, April 2 and continuing through Sunday will host the "48 Hours of the Force." Fans will have interactive toy and game demonstrations, Star Wars character appearances, and free Star Wars goodies. Only 398 stores are hosting the 48 hours of the Force event.

Fans particpating in the 48 Hours of the Force event will be able to purchase the Wal-Mart "Early-Bird" Exclusive. This is a classic reproduction of the first four original Star Wars action figures from 1977. This will only be available in the select stores for the two days as well on walmart.com. When fans purchase the Early Bird exclusive they receive a certificat to mail in to receive the four Star Wars action figures: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, and Chewbacca.

Toys R' Us
Similiar to Wal-Mart select Toys R' Us stores will be open at midnight for fans to purchase Episode III toys. No official list has been posted so contact your local store to see if they will be open.

Beginning April 10 fans who purchase $25 or more will receive a Toys R' Us Episode III Revenge of the Sith Holographic Yoda Figure.

Target
Target stores will not be opening at midnight but there are some that have been reported to be opening at 6:30 A.M. Just like Wal-Mart and Toys R' Us, Target, will be selling an an exclusive Darth Vader figure - Darth Vader (Lava Reflection). The figure is limited and reports that I have read is that each store will have about very small quantities of this figure.
