LEGO's Star Wars Episode III Anakin Star Fighter and Tie Fighter
by Lando da Pimp

SPOILER ALERT!
WARNING. IF YOU ARE LIVING IN A CAVE AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYTHING FROM EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH THIS ARTICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.

With the release of Episode III Revenge of the Sith months away, LEGO has released the first Episode III set to wet your appetite of what's to come. The Original Trilogy Tie Fighter set, with the new LEGO technology of a light up Darth Vader, gives the public the first opportunity to check out the awesome new mini-figure. Both sets are appearing in stores now. Check them out:

Anakin's Star Fighter is the first of many Episode III sets and what a great introduction. This is an improvement on the Jedi Starfighter seen in Attack of the Clones. The ship is a combination of the X-Wing and Tie Fighter. I can't wait to see this ship in action on screen.

Click meThe Star Fighter is an amazing set with a great range of playability. The four wings of the starfighter fold open similar to the future Darth Vader Tie Fighter. They can also fold down to the body of the ship when docked. Other movable parts include an opening cockpit and retractable landing gear.

The set includes stickers to place on the ship. This is a rather new feature for LEGO sets and I found it to be a bit aggravating. I don't like placing stickers on blocks and I question why they weren't printed on the pieces. This is a small set so the build time is under a half hour but it's one of the more solid built LEGO ships to date.

Click meThe Vulture Droid is also included in the set. This is a slightly redesigned ship from the Episode I release. The ship transforms to walking mode with the movement of the wings. The ship is small but a nice inclusion to the set giving you more for your money.

The mini-figure of Episode III Anakin has his long hair. Sadly it is not the new light up lightsaber mini-figure.

LEGO has also released a new Tie Fighter set from the original trilogy. This set only contains a single fighter. The fighter is built similar to the previous tie fighter sets. The cockpit raises revealing the Tie Fighter pilot mini-figure that is included with the set.

Click meThe real reason to buy this set is the inclusion of a Darth Vader mini-figure with a light up lightsaber. When the figure's head is depressed, the light saber lights up. This is the second of the light up mini-figures MillionairePlayboy has featured. Two weeks ago we featured a light up Anakin. This was the invitation for the Toy Fair 2005 LEGO party. I love these mini-figures, and I'm hoping we will see more of these figures. Stay tuned to our Toy Fair coverage in a few weeks, as we will be delivering the goods from the LEGO showroom.

You can buy the Star Fighter & Vulture Droid or the Tie Fighter with Light Up Vader from Amazon.com.

Check out LEGO's offical Star Wars web site, and our continuing LEGO coverage, including the light up Anakin.
