Inkworks
Veronica Mars, Season Two Trading Cards
by Lando da Pimp
Veronica Mars is one of the best shows on television. Unfortunately based on the ratings not many of you are watching. A forth season is unlikely so fans of Mars will have to start grabbing up all the merchandise they can, including the new Inkworks trading cards based on Season two.
The 81-card collection captures moments from the 22 episodes, character cards, and even focuses on the mysteries of the season.
The second season of Veronica Mars features Veronica still struggling with the aftermath of the first season. Her relationship with Logan is no more and is now back with Duncan. There is still a culture class war at Neptune with the biggest obstacle of who killed Felix? However the bigger mystery for Veronica and Keith is who caused the horrific bus accident killing a number of students. However the highlight of the season for me is the introduction of Beaver and Dick's step mom. The amazing Charisma Carpenter.
The show also added a lot of smaller mysteries spread throughout the season.
Autograph Cards Each box contains one autograph card featuring a star of Veronica Mars from:
Kristen Bell – Veronica Mars
Enrico Colantoni – Keith Mars
Charisma Carpenter – Kendall Casablancas
Percy Daggs III – Wallace Fennel
Kyle Gallner – Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas
Krysten Ritter – Gia Goodman
Alona Tal – Meg Manning
Lucas Grabeel – Kelly Kuzzio
Kristin Cavallari – Kylie Marker
Christine Estabrook – Madame Sophie
Costume Cards
Each box also includes one card per box dedicated to the costumes of the show. The cards feature a different piece of an actual costume that was worn by the actors on the show including a vest worn by Kristen Bell, shirts worn by Jason Dohring and Teddy Dunn. Also included is a dress worn by Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter, and special guest star Joss Whedon's shirt. The box I was sent included a piece of fabric from Jason Dohrings shirt.
Final Thoughts
Inkworks stepped up to make these cards worthwhile with the inclusion of the costume cards. This allows collectors and fans to own a piece of the show. The only problem with the cards is the quality of the screen captures from the show. The cards are a bit blurry. I couldn't be happier though with the collection. The cards present a great overview of the show, characters, and the mysteries solved by Veronica Mars.
