Essential Seven Toy Show Dollar Items

This past weekend I attended the Steel City Con (aka Pittsburgh Toy Show). My toy budget has been tight lately, so I thought I would conduct an experiment. With only seven dollars in my pocket, I was curious what kind of toys I could buy for a dollar each. I was shocked at some of the deals that I was able to get for a dollar. Seven dollars less and I can list the Essential Seven Toy Show Dollar Items:

7) Toy Biz Mr. Fantastic Figure

This was the first item I picked up. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how successful this list would be so I grabbed the first “cool” action figure I could find. Notice cool is in quotes.  I’m not a huge Fantastic Four fan, so I don’t know what version this is or its value. All I know is that it’s Toy Biz and goofy.

6) Burger King Indiana Jones

The next table I went to had a box of mostly junk. In that junk was this Indiana Jones Burger King toy from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Yes it is junk, but you should have seen what else was in the box!

5) Jessica Rabbit Figures

The next table I scored 2 for 1! I was able to get these two Jessica Rabbit Figurines for .50 cents each. They are in fantastic shape especially since they are from 1988.

4) Hannibal Smith Action Figure

The Galoob A-Team action figures were released way back in 1983. They are very difficult to find with all of the accessories. No weapons or accessories were included with this figure. The main reason I got it for a dollar. I already owned an A-Team Hamilton Smith action figure, but this one was in much better shape!

3) Growing Pains Trading Cards

I came across a table that was selling a variety different trading cards. Most of them were based on newer TV shows and movies. Then I noticed the packs of Growing Pains cards. I was hoping for a Boner trading card. No such luck. I did however get an awesome sticker of Jeremy Miller and Tracey Gold! I also got the original stick of gum.

2) Buffy the Vampire Slayer PALz

Way back in 2004 we were all teased with this Wizard World exclusive of the upcoming Buffy Palz line. The unpainted Buffy PALz preview figure was probably highly sought after. Six years later you can buy the figure for a buck.

1) Malcorian Riker Carded

Not all of you may agree, but I love the old Star Trek Playmate figures. I was really excited to find a carded Malcorian William Riker figure in a dollar bin. The figure is based on the Star Trek TNG episode “First Contact.” Riker and the card is in decent shape. Not mint, but easily worth more than a buck. If you don’t recall the episode the figure is based on, it involved Riker conducting a first contact mission on another planet. He is then captured and must have sex with Lilith from Cheers to escape.

The Essential Seven is a weekly list of seven items that we at believe needs to be identified. Want our opinion on a topic for a future list? Email Lando Da Pimp. Don’t agree with our list? Then leave a comment. We will try not to laugh at your dumb opinion! ;-)
