spacerScene-It TV / Movie Travel Edition
Screenlife
by Lando da Pimp

So here is a situation for you. You're on the road and you have an itch to play some TV / Movie Trivia. What do you do? Well if you have a dvd player handy you can play the new TV and Movie Travel Scene-It? games.

Screenlife has now packaged the TV and Movie Scene-It? games in travel editions. Both games come packaged in a metal case that when open, acts as the game board and DVD case! Each game comes with four game tokens for up to four players. Each game piece is magnetic allowing it to adhere to the game board.

The games are simplified versions of the regular editions. The cards and dice are now incorporated onto the DVD. Each users turn begins with selecting the roll dice option from the main menu. The DVD randomly rolls the dice prompting to user to either answer the following question or choose All Play or My Play from the menu. From time to time the game will draw a random chance card instructing the user to move ahead or back spaces on the game board.

Just like the regular editions the All Play gives every player a chance to answers the question. The My Play shows a clip from either a TV or Movie, followed by a question referring to that clip.

The TV game version contains clips from various television shows, trivia questions, and on-screen challenges from the last 50 years of TV. A few of the clips that I was given include The Brady Bunch, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Who's The Boss, and The Incredible Hulk. The trivia portion includes questions on guess the image, TV title word scramble, and even questions on television commericals.

The Movie edition is very similiar to the TV version with various clips from movies including There's Something About Mary, Raising Arizona, Fargo, and Silence of the Lambs. During the first game play however I was given multiple questions based on every girl film you can imagine. Needless to say, I lost.

Overall
I played these games at home on my DVD player instead of on the road, and they worked just as well. Since the player is an upconvert it would not allow the random options to work. Screenlife fixed this problem by providing pre-set game plays. The travel editions are great for road trips since the travel tin doesn't have very many includes making it very easy to take with you.
